The Twollars rankings indicate how many Twollars you have given away to others. We wanted to capture and display your ‘generosity quotient’, not simply the total number of Twollars in your account. Generosity and giving is the core principle of Twollars.

Why can’t I just donate real money myself? What added value do Twollars bring?

You can, and we support any means by which charities raise funds. The difference is that when you donate Twollars, the money goes around in a virtuous circle and adds up. An individual or company buys the Twollars from charities, and gives them away to individuals, returning them back into circulation. The Twollars thus continue to capture the positive social energy on Twitter.
